New College has ten accessible toilets. There are six accessible toilets on the main site and four in Gradel Quad.
There is an accessible toilet next to the Bar, one in the Clore music centre reached by using a lift; there is one on the ground floor of the Long Room and one in New Building staircase 6 near lecture room 6; this is reached by a platform stair lift; one in the Sacher Building near Spooner rooms 1 and 2 and one in the sports pavilion.
The toilets in Gradel Quad are next to the Hall foyer and the green room which are reached by using lifts; there are accessible toilets on the ground floor in Main quad and New Wareham House.

There is also an accessible shower room and toilet in New Wareham House which has contrasting grab rails, emergency alarms and the sink is within reach of the toilet; the shower is equipped with a shower seat.
As the toilets were built at different times not all of them meet current accessibility standards. This means that some of them do not have features such as high contrast between the rails and the walls, easy-to-use door handles and easy reach sinks.

New College has many different building styles and staircases. Please note that there are many very old buildings which have worn stairs with no contrasting step edges and no handrails.

Level 4
•    The doors on this floor on open to 85 cm
•    The access control is 108 cm from the floor
•    There is limited room to manoeuvre a wheelchair in some of these rooms

There are  fixed hearing support systems in the Kimber Wing and North Undercroft Room.

There are also portable hearing support systems available. There are systems suitable for large rooms as well as smaller meeting rooms. It is advisable to request the use of these in advance by contacting The Porters’ Lodge.
